 Project proposal: Eastern DRC Emergency Food & Clothing Appeal 2026

  1. Project Title: Emergency Response for Conflict – Affected IDPs and Refugees (ERCIR)
  2. Target Area: Eastern DRC (South-Kivu) & Burundi (Border Districts)
  3. Target Beneficiaries: 3,000 (3,000 IDPs in East DRC and 1,000 Refugees in Burundi)

 

Preamble:                                                                                                                                                 

There is Help Incorporated organization is requesting for some cash US$ 263,200 to purchase the assorted clothes items and foods (emergency aid pack) to support the forgotten Ummah (Internal displaced people (IDPs) and refugees in Burundi), who have been displaced by war in South Kivu province (Uvira Cities, Ruzizi Plain), Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), in this 2026.  

Join our mission to provide essential food and clothes to displaced families in Eastern Congo DRC, we aim to provide 4,000 food parcels and clothes to them, illuminating their lives with hope and nourishment. Amidst the ongoing challenges, your contribution can bring solace and sustenance to those in dire need. let's unite to reach our goal, turning despair into moments of peace and community. This campaign is Zakat and Sadaqah eligible. By donating to this campaign, you will be fulfilling your Zakat obligation Insha'Allah.

Problem statement:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        

Aware of the conflict situation that has been going on in east of DRC and perpetuated war which has lasted long in the east of the DR Congo where people have been attacked by AFC-M23     rebels in this December 2025 and 2026, the clashes between Congolese forces and rebels have left behind a significant quantity of munitions, especially along the Kamanyola – Uvira axis, where some of the fiercest fighting took place, involving the use of artillery and explosive weapons. There are also large quantities of unexploded or abandoned munitions in other areas where clashes occurred, especially in Luvungi and Sange, in the Uvira territory. It is with great apprehension that many people, among them are children, youths, women and men have lost lives, families have been displaced, injuring civilian and forcing others to flee. The United Nations estimates that almost 500,000 people have been displaced in South Kivu since 2 December 2025. Thousands of displaced persons have arrived in Burundi from DRC. Many displaced having abandoned all their possessions, and the humanitarian response is nowhere near sufficient to keep up with the needs. Not only that, but also in the process of displacement a lot of people have lost their goods, clothes, shelter and house materials etc. and they have been left un-stabilized. Hunger crisis in the horn of Eastern DRC. Escalating violence in 2026 has displaced hundreds of thousands. Survivors lack basic food, shelter, and clothing, resulting in extreme vulnerability, disease, and malnutrition. Congolese Displaced families face the relentless shadow of hardship, with basic necessities like food and shelter shipping out of reach. They struggle to find a semblance of normally and dignity. Your help can light up these dark times with generosity and compassion. “No one leaves home unless home is the mouth of a shark”

Solution:

Striving hard to strengthen and rebuild dignity of individuals, reintegrate and fostering of resilience, we therefore, as There is Help Incorporation ask for some assorted of money to purchase materials such as.

  • Clothes of different sizes for children, adolescents and adult's male and females.
  • blankets, bedsheets, plates, mats, gallons, cups, etc. to support the war escapees that have camped themselves within the nation boundaries for safety.
  • Emergency food aid: that included maize flour, beans, salt, rice and sugar. aimed at alleviating hunger and malnutrition.

 

For just 20$, 50$, 100$ etc., you can provide a food and clothes for an entire family, giving them not just food and clothes but a moment of joy and gratitude. Our campaign is dedicated to ensuring ring not family is left without food and warmth. with your support, we aim to distribute 4,000 food parcels and warmth clothes. “Helping those in crisis and need is not a program, it is who we are”                                                                           

Goal: To provide urgent, life-saving assistance to displaced populations in eastern DRC and Burundian host communities, focusing on immediate food security and warmth needs, and essential household items.

Target Population: 3,000+ IDPs in Eastern DRC (specifically South Kivu / Uvira and 1,000+ new arrivals refugee in Burundi. 

Key Activities: 

  • Food Assistance: Distribution of vegetable oil, maize meal, rice, sugar, salt and beans
  • Clothing & NFI Distribution: Urgent procurement and distribution of clothes, blanket, and essential household items.

Priorities:

  • Clothing and Clothing Materials: Prioritize distribution to children, women, and families fleeing violence in South - Kivu with nothing but the clothes they wear.
  • Immediate Food: Immediate food delivery to IDPs in Uvira camps in East DRC and transit centers in Burundi.
  • Household Items: Shelter kits, kitchen sets, and hygiene.
